Don’t Splash Water or Apply Powder on People Who Aren’t Participating

Splashing water on people who are not playing can result in fines or imprisonment. If their belongings are damaged, the penalty can be even more severe — as it causes distress or annoyance to others.

According to Section 397 of the Criminal Code, the punishment can be:

• • Imprisonment for up to1 month,

  • A fine of up to 10,000 baht,

  • Or both.

Ifproperty is damaged (e.g., a phone is broken), it could fall under Section 358 – destruction of property – with penalties of:

• • Imprisonment for up to3 years,

  • A fine of up to 60,000 baht,

  • Or both.

High-Pressure Water Guns and Dirty Water Are Prohibited

Using high-pressure water guns can cause injury. If a person gets hurt — for example, eye injuries or ruptured eardrums — it may be considered “physical assault.”

Penalties:

• • Imprisonment for up to 2 years,

  • A fine of up to 4,000 baht,

  • Or both.

Using canal water or water contaminated with chemicals may be considered as causing harm or illnessto others and could lead to further legal consequences.
