5 types of making a wil

1. Ordinary Will     
     – Must be made in writing, either handwritten or typed.
     – Must be dated on the day it is made.
     – Must be signed in the presence of at least 2 witnesses.
     – The signature may be handwritten or made by fingerprint.

2. Holographic Will
     – Must be entirely handwritten by the testator.
     – May or may not have witnesses.
     – Must be dated.
     – Must be signed. Fingerprints or other marks are not acceptable.
     – Any erasures, deletions, additions, or alterations will render the will invalid, unless made by the testator and initialed.

3. Official Will
To request the District Chief or District Officer of any district to proceed with the following:
     – The testator shall declare to the District Chief in the presence of at least two witnesses the matters that they wish to be included in their will.
     – The District Chief shall record the matters declared by the testator and read them aloud to the testator and the witnesses.
     – Once the testator and the witnesses have confirmed that the matters recorded by the District Chief are accurate and correspond to the declaration made by the testator, the testator and the witnesses shall sign their names.
     – The District Chief shall sign the recorded matters and indicate the date on which the record was made, certifying that the will has been made in accordance with the prescribed procedures and affix their official seal.

4. Sealed Will
A petition must be filed with the District Chief or District Officer at any district or district.
    – The document must contain the terms of the will and be signed by the testator.
    – The testator must seal the will and sign across the seal.
    – The testator must present the sealed will to the District Chief or District Officer and at least two witnesses.
    – When the District Chief or District Officer has recorded the statement of the testator and the date of the will on the envelope, affixed the official seal, and the District Chief or District Officer, the testator, and the witnesses have signed on the envelope.

5. Oral Will
An oral will can only be made under exceptional circumstances where it is impossible to create a will in the usual manner, such as when the testator is in imminent danger of death, during an epidemic, or in a war zone.
     – The testator must express their wishes regarding their estate in the presence of at least two witnesses who are together at the time.
     – All witnesses must promptly report to the district officer and inform them of the following:
          1. The exact words spoken by the testator.
          2. The date, month, year, and place where the will was made.
          3. The specific circumstances that prevented the testator from creating a will in the manner prescribed by law.

     – The district officer must record the information provided by the witnesses, and all witnesses must sign or leave fingerprints, certified by two witnesses.
However, the will shall expire within 1 month from the date on which the testator makes another will.
